Amboseli National Park

Located 260 km southeast of Nairobi, it takes about 3 hours by road or 40 minutes by air. This 392 km² park is the home of the Elephant, the biggest land animal. There has been ever, the first two recent births of elephant albino calves. One was born in Novembber 2011 and the other in January 2012 to mothers named Fenella and Jemima. Come and see how the whole herd gathers around the two calves and plasters them with mud to protect them from the strong sun. Other big animals are Buffalo, Hippo, Zebra, Wildebeest, Leopard, Cheetah, Hyena and Lion. The Rhino is, however, lacking. Small animals include the Warthog, Impala, Thomson’s and Grant’s gazelles that are food to a thriving cheetah, hyena and leopard populations. From the comfort of your lodge/camp, see Kilimanjaro, the imposing highest African mountain just across the Kenya/Tanzania border. In the rainy season, see the prehistoric Lake Amboseli and the water birds flying around it.
