Better known as the “Flamingo Park”, this famous park located on the floor of the Great Rift Valley is 160 km northwest of Nairobi. The alkaline lake houses millions of Greater and Lesser flamingos and many other species of water birds such as Pelicans and Cormorants. One is surprised to find that Lake Nakuru National Park is also home to hundreds of Water buck, Warthog, Buffalo, Impala, Zebra, Wildebeest, Giraffe, White Rhino, Lion, Hyena and a high concentration of the elusive Leopard. However, this park is devoid of the Elephant and Cheetah. Cast your eyes over the lake from the Baboon View Point, where disembarking and picnicking is allowed.
